Man plans to recreate Elyria Reefy Mansion history
Steven McQuillin, a historic preservation consultant from Hayesville, aims to buy the vacant corner lot at Third Street and West Avenue in Elyria to build a downsized Reefy Mansion with four apartments. Elyria Council approved land transfer to the Elyria CIC, which will sell it to McQuillin for 50000 dollars. He began with a boyhood effort to save the mansion when the Reefy Mansion was set for demolition to expand a church.

Elyria man arrested in third Case Avenue raid
An Elyria man on probation after a felony drug conviction was arrested Friday during an early morning search at his Case Avenue residence. Tyler Jalowiec, 20, faces felony charges of trafficking fentanyl and possession of fentanyl and a criminal tools charge, plus misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession. Police, with help from Lorain, FBI, and ATF, noted this is the third search at the home since 2022.
