Mystery Air Force plane crashes in Sequoia Forest
In Sequoia National Forest near Bakersfield an apparently secret F-19 Stealth prototype crashed, killing the pilot and igniting a 150 acre brush fire. Air Force and officials barred access while confirming little about the aircraft or mission.

Beauty queen in Hungary dies by suicide at home
Hungarian government paper Magyar Hirlap reports 17 year old Miss Hungary Andrea Csilla Molnar died from an overdose of Lidocain at her parents home in Fonyod on Lake Balaton. Authorities gave no reason for the act. Molnar had won Hungary’s first postwar beauty title and placed third in Miss Europe. She had toured Vienna Cairo and was set to visit California.

Derail fire near end after large evacuation
MIAMISBURG AP Authorities watched a derailed tanker carrying white phosphorus burn for the fifth day as officials predicted the blaze would end. The incident prompted the largest evacuation in U.S. train wreck history with more than 17,000 people from Dayton's southern suburbs evacuated Tuesday and up to 40,000 Wednesday night as the tanker burned out of control.
