Oakland guarded by new oiling system
Engineers of the Oakland Motor Car Company credit the full press ure oiling system for the engine’s trouble free stamina in six months under new ownership. A gear type pump, positioned below oil level in the pan, supplies 25 to 30 psi to crankshaft main bearings, rod bearings, camshaft, rocker arms, timing chain, and piston pin bearings. Continuous high pressure lubrication protects every vital point, with oil sprayed to rod bearings for added coverage.
