Lorain Ohio July 14 six Lorain men were arrested on liquor charges after raids by the Lorain vice squad and state prohibition inspector G A Baynham. Officers seized 1600 bottles of beer 80 gallons of home brew 10 one gallon cans of malt and other items at 488 East Thirteenth street. Catazarat previously jailed on liquor charge in 1926 and fined 1900 dollars. Other raids found whiskey in cars at 2407 Broadway and several locations on Elyria avenue. Continuous raids yielded multiple pints bottles and broken bottles with limited samples for analysis.

Man Killed by Auto on Lodi Street
Mike Srocka, 51, of 278 West Bridge Street, was killed shortly before midnight Saturday when struck on Lodi Street by an automobile driven by Clarence Haugh of 246 Wooster Street. Witnesses say Srocka ran from the curb into the street. his neck was broken. He died at Elyria Clinic after being taken there by Haugh. He worked for the New York Central railroad here and roomed at West Bridge Street. He is survived by two brothers in Lorain, a sister, and two daughters in Berea.
