Hobbit musical brings Middle Earth to Elyria stage
Pioneer Theatre stages The Hobbit at Lorain County Community College Stocker Center with actors ages 5 to 18. Bilbo is played by Jessie Kershaw and Gollum by Diana Buch as youth performers learn acting, dance, singing and set design. Tickets cost 8 dollars for adults and 6 for seniors and students.

Tracy Rezko sues the city of Lorain alleging a former water department employee offered money for sex acts during on site visits in 2000. The suit cites prior disciplinary actions and urges damages over 25 000 while naming no city defendant. Also indicted is Paul Trickel on felonious sexual penetration of a boy between 1984 and 1991.

Avon Lake teen airlifted after ATV crash near Jaycox Road
A 15 year old Avon Lake boy remained hospitalized after an ATV crash Monday night near the Avon side of the railroad tracks west of Jaycox Road. He was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center with severe head injuries. Police said the other rider, also 15, was uninjured. The crash remains under investigation.
