Maklebust Home a Highlight in Avon Lake Village

The Maklebusts reside at 7 Coveland Drive Avon Lake owning land on the circling street. Eric Maklebust Sr built a sea wall protecting their property after erosion issues and runs Mak Construction Company in Cleveland. The firm helped on major Cleveland projects including Halle Bros Woolworth Bond Building and a Lorain Street bridge over Rocky River with an arch erected in 1936. After 51 years in iron and steel, he and his wife moved to Avon Lake six years ago and funded the Avon Lake Commercial Building.

Avon Lake Businessmen's Club Steers Toward Civic Year

Avon Lake merchants formed the Avon Lake Businessmen's Club a combined chamber and credit bureau. It operates with a charter and by laws, screens past due accounts, and plans a Fourth of July celebration with civic groups. Kiwanis sponsors Little League teams and scholarships while the American Legion runs The Chateau on Walker Road.
