Lodi crash injures dozens as bus and truck collide

A rented panel truck and a Greyhound bus collided on Rt 42 in Lodi injuring 26 to 28 people. The Cleveland bound bus carried 39 passengers from Louisville and Fort Knox service personnel. driver Stanley W. Chacksfield of Cincinnati received a sprained ankle. The truck driver Nat Binder of East Cleveland was in severe shock. Relatives gathered as some passengers were treated and a relief bus transported those with minor injuries.

Teller Denies All Charges In Ohio Robberies

Detroit federal court held Cleveland bank robber Louis Teller and his girlfriend Lora Lee Ratenour, 17, on bonds of 75000 and 50000 respectively after an FBI raid with tear gas. A young seaman Thomas Maldona of Far Rockaway NY confessed to radioing false reports that the fishing ship Blue Star was afire and sinking off the New Jersey coast. He and 17 year old George Teen of Oceanside NY were charged with burglary for breaking into a 30 foot commercial boat aboard the St Joseph. The hoax prompted a Coast Guard search costing taxpayers at least 30 000 and prompted warnings from Nassau County police and FCC officials.
