Babson Views Outlook For Utilities
Babson analyzes the utility sector on July 9 1937 noting the fifth bear market anniversary. Power stocks rose only about 60 percent versus industrial and railroad gains near 300 percent, with taxes and policy delaying recovery. He cites 8 million direct savers and millions more insured investors backing the vast electric system, despite a weak overall market for utilities and ongoing industry housecleaning.
