Sheffield Lake man bound over on heroin charge
A Sheffield Lake man Dennis Alan Stang bound over to the Lorain County Grand Jury on heroin possession charges after a June 8 incident with Elyria Police Officer Michael R. Killean in a Broad Street tavern. He pleaded innocent to heroin and related counts and had bond set at five dollars. Police found marijuana and report he tried to hide two heroin packets in a cruiser.

Malicious entry hearing set for Amherst Township case
A preliminary hearing for James Perry and Michael Perry on malicious entry charges was scheduled for Thursday in Oberlin Municipal Court. A 17 year old juvenile was detained and another man sought as deputies describe three suspects entering the home of Robert Kindrich at 2 a.m. The men fled toward a wooded area but were detained after a pursuit on Quarry Road. The Perrys were arraigned in Oberlin yesterday and held on $1000 bond. Michael Perry also faces public intoxication and driving without a license charges.

In Olmsted Falls a 32 year old man is held after the shooting death of 25 year old Yvonne Wood. Police were alerted by neighbor Ronald Oakleaf who found Wood in her second floor apartment. Wood died at Berea Southwest General Hospital. An unidentified man in the home was arrested and a handgun was seized. The coroner will rule on the cause of death.
