Abandoned dogs found on Riverfront Industrial Parkway

Lorain police reported several animal incidents and a separate arrest. On Sunday at 4:40 p.m. officers found two pit bulls and a bulldog abandoned on Riverfront Industrial Parkway and took the dogs to the county dog warden. On Monday at 1:02 p.m. Freddie Concepcion was issued a summons for menacing and disorderly conduct after allegedly threatening a man following a car crash near the license bureau. On Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. a dog tied to a tree with a computer cord and abandoned in a wooded area was found on Pole Avenue. On Thursday at 10:34 a.m. a German shepherd mix was found running loose and playing with children on West 29th Street.

Retractions and rulings in Lorain police case amid multiple claims

In Lorain, Brillon was acquitted of felonious assault after a bench trial. an excessive force probe into Ferenzi was sent to federal prosecutors who declined charges. Separate probe against Officer Ferenec also declined. Petroff sues Lorain police over the Smith incident, ongoing in federal court.

Lorain youths gain city office experience through CDBG program

Family remembers Key after Lorain shooting death

In Lorain a man known as Key, Carter, died from gunshot wounds after a Thursday shooting in a dark sedan. Police sought 19 year old Charles Pierre-Louis Jr. who surrendered later on an unrelated weapons charge. The victim’s companion described a grim scene and shared memories of his kindness.

Ohio patrol reports 17 dead in Fourth of July crashes

The Ohio Highway Patrol says 17 people died in traffic crashes during the June 30 to July 4 period, with impaired driving linked to five crashes. Officers issued 908 DUI arrests and 624 drug charges, logged 807 crashes, and made over 43 000 traffic contacts including assistance to more than 5 000 motorists.
