Farmers Reduce Average Workday To Only 12 Hours
Ohio State University’s J H Simerix cites Bureau of Agricultural Economics data showing U S farmers averaged 12 hours per day on June 1, down from wartime 12.6 hours. Hired men averaged 10.7 hours. Ohio owners logged 12.7 hours and hired workers 9.8 hours, with Florida farmers recording 10.4 hours as the nation’s shortest workday.
