Secretary of the Navy Claude A. Swanson died at 8 06 A M at a Rapidan River fishing camp in Virginia. The 77 year old elder statesman of the Democratic Party suffered a stroke after a long illness and died 25 hours after his collapse. Mrs Swanson was with him. The death creates a third vacancy in President Roosevelts cabinet.

Five Held After Alleged Torture Robbery Attempt
In Wooster Ohio on July 7 three men and two Sterling High School students were taken into custody after allegedly breaking into Brady Hoover’s Sterling home.
