Brown promises to sign post Prop 13 budget
Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr pledged to sign a $15.1 billion state budget after a tough debate and a nine hour lobbying push. The plan tightens Medi Cal abortions funding for the poor and grants a 2.5 percent raise to state workers, with Prop 13’s fiscal restraints shaping about the final package. Senate approved 27 to 10, sending it to Brown who said he would sign a leaner version.
