SUV Hits Scooter on West 17th Street and Flees

Fort Campbell Soldier Journalist Killed in Afghanistan

Staff Sgt. James P. Hunter, 25, from South Amherst, died June 18 in Kandahar when an improvised explosive device struck his patrol. He served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, and was noted for telling soldiers' stories. Fort Campbell officials said he was the first Army journalist killed in combat since the start of the wars.
