North Olmsted Schools seek stable finances with cuts eyed
Treasurer Robert Matson says the North Olmsted district remains financially stable after approving a 7.9 mill operating levy in May. Plans to save about 5 million over three years include eliminating and consolidating staff positions, altering transportation, and other cost reductions. Extra revenue from the levy could total 7 to 8 million with careful cost management, enabling a return to voters in three years for a 4.9 to 5 mill request if the plan succeeds. By July the district expects an 8.5 million general fund balance, providing flexibility for unexpected expenses.
