Hinckley letter to Post taunts Jodie Foster obsession
John Hinckley Jr, awaiting confinement after a Reagan assassination attempt, sends a hand written June 27 1982 letter to a New York Post reporter. He writes Jodie will fall and pleas not to be turned into a monster while referencing actress Jodie Foster and the Taxi Driver role. The letter is his second contact with a newspaper since his confinement at St Elizabeths Hospital. A federal jury had found him not guilty by reason of insanity in March 1981.
