Whooping cranes fly with robo mom in new training plan
In Laurel Maryland a two month old whooping crane chick joins a staged flight exercise with a white robed trainer acting as mom. The pilotless craft and robo crane aim to spark the birds curiosity while advancing their migration training toward Wisconsin and Florida. Officials hail the test as a promising blend of nature and technology for the endangered species recovery.
