Jury votes death for Gary Heidnik
A Philadelphia jury convicted Gary Heidnik of two first degree murders and sentenced him to death for both counts. Heidnik also faced charges of kidnapping and rape for imprisoning four other women in his North Philadelphia home. The judge formally imposed the death sentences and will have Heidnik removed to a state prison to await execution.
