Twin brothers share paths from air traffic to baseball
Ron and Don Ahrens, born eight minutes apart, grew up in Minnesota and built parallel lives. Enlisting as radar operators, they later became air traffic controllers, returned to college after a strike, and now work in tax auditing and rural mail delivery. They reside in Amherst with their families and run local youth leagues. Their near identical looks often confuse neighbors as they shuttle gear between fields.
