Novel Clocks Break Traditions At Chicago Exhibits
New clocks shown at the Summer Furniture Market and the American Institute of Decorators Exhibition in Chicago redefine timepieces. Many hang from ceilings, swing on cords, or lie on walls with playful forms like spider webs, wagon wheels, and pyramids. Some use unconventional materials and designs, including aluminum, walnut, pigskin, and plastic cords. Prices vary as inventive units range from child friendly to ornamental pieces, with portable, stylized clocks appearing on wooden balls or three white rods.
