The 90th Ohio General Assembly, after a tense, heat-soaked session, enacted broad measures. A dictatorial bank emergency framework, a permanent taxation program, and utilities reforms were approved. State relief funds totaling 2 million dollars were allocated, and school financing provisions were extended through bonds or notes. Continued on Page 2.
County Relief Director M. A. Gouthon reported that the city's relief funds for July were cut by the state from 23, to 13,988 this month. He said accumulated balances over the last three months remain nearly 100, and will be available if the 13,988 allowance is sufficient. He noted that state and federal agencies are shifting relief burden back to communities. Families on relief are expected to drop from 542 to about 500 by week’s end due largely to initial improvements.
Wayne Garland's boys band performs tonight on the hospital grounds at the porch of Gates Hospital. A public cert is planned and the concert starts at 7 30 with attendance expected from patients and staff alike.

Mrs. Michael Roth of 318 West 30th Street Lorain was killed when her car collided with Grant Seeley’s car at Elyria Avenue and 28th Street Lorain about 6 30 p m The collision left her husband seriously injured Seeley of 319 East Avenue Elyria was arrested on a technical charge of manslaughter and released the next day Police Chief Theodore Walker said the accident would be investigated and facts presented to the grand jury The traffic light at the intersection was reported out of order
Lorain County Savings and Trust Co awaits waivers from fewer than 100 depositors to satisfy State Banking Department criteria. Bank officials state funds are ready and a final license check could occur once waivers are turned in. Local officials and depositor committee members will continue outreach to secure cooperation and release funds for public works.
Elyria Chapter reports distribution of more than 50 000 dollars worth of flour cloth and clothing to needy families in Elyria and district. Since April 25 1932 over 1 176 000 pounds of flour in 48 000 sacks have been given, averaging more than 3200 sacks monthly. Up to 2000 families have appeared on relief lists, at no cost to taxpayers.
Officers and workers in the Mosier bill defeat movement plus campaign friends will meet Wednesday at 7 30 p m in the Sunday school room of the First M and church. George Southwell district superintendent of the Anti Saloon League will report on progress in Columbus and the statewide drive.

High winds caused extensive tree damage across the city and prompted street department crews to remove broken limbs. A large limb blocked traffic near 133 Lake Avenue, with other obstructions reported citywide. Some grain and corn fields also suffered damage in several areas.
Robbery charges are expected this afternoon against two men from Ash tabula and Cleveland. They narrowly escaped serious injuries yesterday when their car crashed into a telephone pole west of Grafton during a pursuit by a victim. The wild chase began at Joe Stanislawski’s junk yard and covered about two miles. Stanislawski chased in his machine, the wreck occurred, and he helped remove the men from the wreckage and drove them to Memorial hospital. The driver was later jailed. the other remained hospitalized with cuts and blood loss. The same pair reportedly took a slot machine from Joe Boddy’s diner on Cleveland road about a half hour earlier. The car is owned by a sister of the Ashtabula man.
Merchants and Mayor W. H. Van Oster conferred on issuing scrip against delinquent taxes to cover city payrolls. About $30,000 in scrip was proposed. After informal talks a merchant committee was formed to study the idea and report back after another conference within a few days.
CHICAGO July 3 Wheat prices surged at the Board of Trade opening with two deliveries above 1.00 a bushel and a third nearing the dollar mark shortly after.

The ninth annual Eaton Homecoming and community picnic will be held at Davis Woods tomorrow starting at ten in the morning with a ball game. A basket picnic is planned at noon and an athletic program follows in the afternoon for boys and girls, with music by the Eaton Orchestra. Awards for athletic contests will be given by local merchants. Chairman is C. Blaine and Mrs. George Cornish serves as Secretary-Treasurer.
Cascade Park is expected to draw hundreds of Brytians and visitors from outside for a holiday recreation day tomorrow. A baseball game will attract fans, the swimming pool opens for bathers, and numerous family gatherings are planned. Out of town tourists are also anticipated at the popular park.
Lifesaving crews report a man drowned at Lorain Harbor entrange while a second person was rescued. The incident occurred near Lorain Ohio on July 3 with rescue teams aiding the survivor.
