A two alarm blaze at the Ameri a Radiator Company caused over $1,000 damage this morning. Tar vats and drums of tar used for an addition to the plant were destroyed, along with 26 panes of glass. Firemen from Quad Co, One and others fought flames for about an hour, blamed on overheating of a tar kettle near the building on Garden avenue. The tar and equipment belonged to Oakowski Roofing Co of Kerst.

Thieves Steal $500 Worth Of Meat
A burglary at Yondo's Market at Sprague and West River roads last night netted roughly $500 in meat and merchandise plus $51 in cash. Deputy Vinovich reported the break in, noting $31 from the cash register and meats including calf and hind beef portions, hams, and pork joints taken. Harley Johnson Dies Known In Elyria Sports Circles
Harley Y Johnson 55 a longtime Elyria sports figure died at 7 last evening at his Westlake home after illness since last August. Born in Avon he lived in Elyria for 27 years until 1950 and worked in the school system. He helped organize youth sports and managed softball teams including Vic Silver Jewelers and Sederis Restaurant girls. He aided Little League and recreation activities and was active in bowling. Surviving: wife Esther, son Ivan, mother Flora May Johnson, two sisters, two brothers. The funeral will be at Sudro Curtis and burial in Brookdale Cemetery after services at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Eaton Church of Christ.

Boys In Accident Being Released From Hospital
Fred Stauder Jr and Jack Sharpe were hospitalized since January 22 after a motorcycle collided with a city bus on Gulf road. Both boys are reported in good condition. Jack Sharpe has a broken left arm. Fred Stauder has a fractured ankle. They were freed from under the bus with a jack and dragged 32 feet.

No Parking Signs Begin Enforcement at Erection
Police Chief C E Andress announced that signs marking the upcoming one way traffic on Second and Third streets will be enforced from the moment they are erected. Zones restricted include Cedar from Broad to Second, Second from Cedar to East Avenue, and Chestnut and Third streets portions.
