John Sabo of 111 Alexander Dr plans to seek an injunction over North Abbe Road widening until sewer backup problems are addressed. He cites six inches of raw sewage after heavy rains in his basement and similar complaints from Falcon Fairwood Abbe Knolls and Briar Lake residents east of the road. Nolan Files for State Office in May Primary
Elyria businessman James D. Nolan filed petitions for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor submitting 2 060 signatures from 68 counties. He previously ran for secretary of state in 1966. Also seeking the nomination are State Sen Anthony Calabrese and Ray T Miller Jr. Nolan, operator of Elyria East Haven Nursing Home, lives in Cleveland and is active in local Catholic, business, and nursing home groups.

Elderly Elyria Woman Dies After Berea Crash
Mrs. Raymond Shripka, 72, of 710 Bond St., died at Central Baptist Hospital after injuries from a Jan 11 single car crash near Berea. Her husband, 74, was released earlier and living nearby. She suffered a broken arm and pelvis and multiple wounds.
