Jury Selected In Espionage Case Of Retired Sergeant
Twelve jurors and four alternates were chosen for the first espionage trial in 50 years. Brian Patrick Regan, a retired Air Force master sergeant, faces three counts of attempted espionage and one of illegally gathering national security information. He allegedly offered secrets to Iraq Libya and China for 3 million dollars. If convicted he could be the first American executed for spying since the Rosenbergs in 1953. Regan pleaded innocent and his trial in Alexandria Virginia could carry a death penalty under federal law.
