Farmland values hold steady despite low crop prices
Toledo based report notes auctioneers and OSU economists expect farmland prices to stay steady through 1999 despite sagging corn soybeans and wheat. Analysts predict 5 to 6 percent gains, nearer last year’s average $2300 per acre, boosted by development demand and proximity to towns. Local farmers remain land hungry and cautious with spending.
