House Aged in Beauty Enters Second Century of Life
Elyria’s historic brick house at Fourth and West Avenue, restored by Eugene Smyth and Richard Christen, preserves Victorian craft while welcoming visitors. The project, begun after the previous owner moved to a rest home in 1966, restored stairwells, restored the main fireplace, and added period decor. The owners emphasize the home’s living history and invite groups to view its evolution.
