Fire devastates Indianapolıs foundry plant
A blaze at the American foundry plant in Indianapolis started near a blast furnace and swept two city blocks. Firemen battled the fire in near zero temperatures, trapping ruins in ice. No injuries were reported among three workers inside. About 300 workers lost their jobs as the plant, producing motor blocks and gears for Chrysler, Stutz, and Marmon, burned.
