Plane engine recovered from Hudson River
The left engine of the US Airways Airbus A320 from Flight 1549 was recovered after an eight day effort in the Hudson. Salvage crews lifted the damaged unit 65 feet from the river bottom and documented it for the NTSB inquiry while officials noted no evident oil or fuel leaks. A right engine had shown soft body damage and organic material gathered for DNA analysis.
