Ohio to court Red China trade talks on exports
The State of Ohio plans a trade mission to mainland China this year to market industrial technology and machinery. Secretary Fred A. Sexton said a late February to early March schedule could see 20 to 28 Ohio businessmen travel for talks, with a Rhodes return unlikely. The governor’s aide noted limited time for budget and schooling matters. Meanwhile in Massachusetts a judge’s order blocks Laetrile for Chad Green and his parents plan an appeal possibly to the Appeals Court.

Judge orders end to Laetrile therapy for boy in custody case
Plymouth County Superior Court Judge Guy Volterra ordered the Greens to stop the unconventional metabolic treatment using Laetrile and high doses of vitamins A and C for Chad. The judge kept Chad as a partial ward of the state, allowing Massachusetts General Hospital to test for cyanide and vitamin A poisoning while evidence from a two week hearing is reviewed. Medical tests showed overdoses of both substances and the Greens called the ruling a disaster citing political pressure.
