Elyria City council opened its first meeting of the year with general business after the organizational session. The Board of Education request for two new traffic lights for Franklin school and for retaining lights at 6th street locations was referred to safety. A plan to hire adult guards was discussed as relief for police. Council approved a whiteway lighting special assessments resolution and an ordinance for legal advertising. A street patching program of 15000 dollars was authorized for legislation. An ordinance to proceed with Hawthorne Longfellow storm sewer work was passed with city funding 1/50. Air Field Site Hunt Shifts To New Area In Ohio

City considers radar speed control unit suggestion

School Teacher Injured In Traffic Accident Near Elyria
Walter Lastoskie a 28 year old school teacher of 347 Park Avenue Amherst was treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital for head lacerations and abrasions after his car collided with a truck driven by Mike Zrelak 27 of Grafton on Grafton road south of Elyria. The crash occurred as Lastoskie was driving south and the truck made a left turn according to a sheriff department report.
