Driver Loses Control injures 7 year old on icy street
A jeep station wagon skidded on an icy spot at E Broad street and Fairlawn avenue and struck Dennis McIntire, 706 S Boston avenue, as he walked toward Garford School. The boy, 7, suffered a skull fracture and multiple injuries and remains in critical condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Police report the vehicle traveled about 285 feet out of control before leaving the road and entering a ditch. Driver Leo Pascal of Olmsted Falls said he was traveling about 35 mph and attempted to brake when the collision occurred. An eyewitness placed the boy on the sidewalk at 603 E Broad street as the auto approached.

In Columbus a 15 year old girl Emilie Jane Shepherd was killed when the car driven by her mother Hazel Shepherd rammed a speeding fire department ladder truck at an intersection as the light turned green. The mother suffered shock and possible leg injuries.
