Lorain council approved a 55000 sewer bypass plan to relieve Oakwood Subdivision back ups causing raw sewage in basements. Seventy four homes will gain relief. a cheaper 30000 option would have aided 69 homes. The project skips regular bidding to speed completion amid overloaded sewers and shallow depths. The council also approved a 15000 subsidy for the Lorain Port Authority and sent a delinquent parking fine increase to committee.
