The Lorain County Lorain chapter of the Izaak Walton League announces its annual installation dinner at Grassie’s Wayside Inn with Izaak Walton as installing officer. The event features Aqua Maids and a Florida water recreation film, while funds support scholarships and a 105 acre land venture for home and recreation facilities. Attendance limited by Bird Room capacity. shares at $10 each help finance the venture.
Avon Sportsmen's Club announced its annual banquet to be held Saturday February 18 at Tom's Country Club on Stoney Ridge Road. The event begins at 6 30 p.m. with outdoor movies planned as entertainment.
Ohio Division of Wildlife official J L Copeland notes a ten year drop in arrests for hunting without permission, with 1951 to 1960 figures showing a peak in 1951 and a 1959 spike due to landowners overselling permits. He credits more public hunting land and stricter landowner cooperation as factors.
Lorain County Federation for Conservation enters its second year as a coordinating group for sportsmen and conservationists with Billi Vreeland of Oberlin re elected president. The Cleveland Public Hall hosts the fourth annual Mid-America Boat Show January 21 to 29. Visitors ride the Sailorometer a motion ride simulating 40 mph and 10 boating scenarios with automatic scoring. Also featured is the Dancing Waters aqua display with multicolored fountain patterns synchronized to music.

Lake Tofcee near Willard will stock 2000 northern pike and 8000 walleye fingerlings this spring. Maurice Thomas and Martin Kline, chairmen of the Lake Tofcee committee, noted the 22 acre site was formerly a B and C Railroad reservoir just west of Willard.
Ohio Division of Wildlife reports by January 12 about 7 600 deer hunter report cards received with 1 683 deer killed in 1960 paces ahead of 1959 when 10 200 cards were on file showing 1 437 deer killed. Officials urge completion and mailing of cards for herd management planning.
