Stalled Car Demolished as Skidding Truck Tips on Route 10
A stalled automobile on Route 10 near Route 30 was crushed when a westbound truck and trailer skidded on wet pavement yesterday at 7 p.m. The truck driver Robert Fecrell of Bedford Indiana was arrested for reckless driving. The car owner William Buchholtz of Middle Point Ohio reported the vehicle sank into soft mud after backing from a drive. Carlisle firemen stood by and cleaned spilled gasoline. other accidents occurred on Route 10 and Route 20 with minor damages.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fly of 528 East River Street report their son Pfc. Clifford Fly 19 was killed in action in Korea on July 27 after earlier being listed as missing in August. He enlisted in 1949, trained in Okinawa in 1950, and died shortly after stating plans to go to Korea. He is survived by his parents and three brothers James Ronald and Danny.

Man Killed Daughter Fatally Hurt In Route 7 Crash
Troy McCartne y 41 of Salt Run Ohio was killed instantly in a head on collision with a truck on Route 7 south of Steubenville. His four year old daughter Jane died from injuries. Two other McCartney children were treated for minor injuries at Ohio Valley Hospital. The truck was driven by William Johnson of Alliance and carried scrap motor parts from Bellaire to Cleveland.
