Ohio ODNR rejects Marathon Ashland pipeline maintenance notice
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources denied Marathon Ashland Petroleum permission to perform certain maintenance on a 149 mile southeast Ohio fuel pipeline without 48 hours prior state notification. The line runs from Kenova to Columbus, part of Marathon Ashland’s 1000 miles in Ohio, with full capacity expected by February. In separate items, Shaker Heights mourns Ted Mason, 81, a Tuskegee airman who helped end racial barriers in the Army after serving as a B 25 pilot with the 477th Bombardment Group. He died Saturday at Kethley House. He and others challenged segregated facilities at Freeman Field, with charges dropped. Mason later became a Cleveland area dentist and property owner in the Shaker Heights district.
