Holiday Inn faces clash over Lorain mini mall plans
In Lorain city plans announced for a $3 million Reid Avenue mini mall including a Rego Stop N Shop and nine outlets spurs conflict with Holiday Inn Associates who say they have first chance at the land behind the $2 million 300 Broadway office building. Attorney Robert Rains says the city’s move jeopardizes the inn project, while city officials point to a past verbal agreement that expired in 1978. Partners cited include Cleveland attorney John Carney Jr and Vermilion restaurant owner Eddie Solomon, among others, with July as a target for the inn’s construction.
