Ohio House defeat limits county self rule in Ohio
Ohio House defeated a measure to expand county self-government, failing to reach the three fifths ballot threshold by three votes. The bipartisan 57-36 vote blocks a plan that would grant counties broader authority, while party reps cited township conflicts and lack of new taxing powers. Cox may seek reconsideration next week.
