Eight Survivors To Testify In Truculent Sub Sinking Probe
CHATHAM England Eight of the 15 survivors of the submarine Truculent were called before a five man Naval Board of Inquiry to testify on the collision that cost 64 lives. The hearing at Chatham naval headquarters began with a panel including an rear admiral engineer expert and a submarine captain. After testimonies the board will question crew members of the Swedish tanker Divina which rammed and sank the Truculent in clear weather on Thames Estuary Thursday night. The inquiry results will go to the commander in chief of the Nore for further action. The board’s discussions will not be made public. The hearing was set to last about two hours.

Pittsburgh state police were alerted after coal pickets dynamited a steam shovel at a non union mine in western Pennsylvania in retaliation for arrests. Four Killed and Ten Hurt in Buses Crash Near Saylord
A school bus carrying the Michigan Tech hockey team collided with a Greyhound bus on an icy highway near Saylord. Four people were killed and ten injured. Coroner reports include two men killed on the school bus and a child and a man on the Greyhound. Michigan Tech team had returned from a game in East Lansing. Deer Killed After Pony Kicks It Near Oberlin Home
At the Lorain County Children's Home in Oberlin a 200-pound buck deer was killed after being kicked in the mouth by a nearby pony. Dogs chased the deer into a wire fence causing the fatal injury. Veterinarians could not save it, and venison was later eaten by residents due to a deep freezer on site.
