Drug charge against Mrs Eckel dropped in Erie County
A marijuana trafficking charge against Brenda Eckel 31 wife of former priest Richard Eckel of Berlin Heights was dropped after her husband was cleared of similar charges. Eckel was indicted last August and her lawyer indicated the case was dismissed as the evidence failed to convict. The former priest resigned as associate pastor of St Mary Church in Sandusky in 1972.

Firelands Electric Co op extends its water heater rebate and Dual Fuel incentive through 1984. Members installing a 50 gallon or larger electric water heater can receive 60 cash plus 10 for insulation jacket and 25 if replacing a fossil fuel unit. The Dual Fuel plan offers 400 toward a heat pump and up to 3000 at 5 percent interest for add on heat pumps.
