Oberlin School In China Moves For Fourth Time
Oberlin's school in China has relocated for the fourth time, moving 400 miles over the Tsing Ling mountains to Kan su Province with 245 students and faculty. The trek from Sian began after bombings and threats from Japanese forces, with wheelbarrows shared among groups as stations were set a day apart. Herbert Van Meter led the expedition, the sole Westerner in the group, and the mission mirrors historic migrations while expanding the school's reach in western China.
