Ice on Mars Revealed by Erosion Exposes Thick Mid-Latitude Deposits
NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter using HiRISE imagery spots eight exposed ice deposits in Mars mid latitudes. Scarps in the southern hemisphere and Milankovic Crater in the north show ice 1 to 2 yards below the surface and up to 320 feet deep, with low dust, potentially accessible for future exploration and study of climate history.
