North Ridgeville Community Meetings and Events Update

Porter named head of Ridgeville board
North Ridgeville John Porter was elected president of the North Ridgeville Board of Education at the reorganizational meeting. He succeeds R. Dan Taylor with Raymond Jensen re-elected as vice-president. Jeanne Shultzaberger was appointed representative to the Lorain County Joint Vocational Board of Education. Opportunities for involvement include Taylor and Larry Turner on the athletic board and Porter as public library liaison, city liaison, and school board liaison. The board will continue $20 per meeting, up to $240 in 1979, with planned raise to $40 in 1980. Meetings are the second Monday at 8 p.m. in the Middle School cafeteria. The board renews Ohio School Boards Association membership with $755 dues.

Vermilion Considers Parking Rule Fix After Winter Conflicts
Vermilion safety committee plans an informal survey of residents to choose streets for no parking or one side parking during winter. Toledo Woman Dies In Turnpike Crash Near Castalia
A Toledo woman Rebecca Maitland 36 died from massive head injuries after losing control of her car on the Ohio Turnpike four miles south of Castalia and striking a guardrail under the Rt. 269 overpass. Two brothers in law Lloyd Maitland 19 and Vale Maitland 19 of Brooklyn were injured and taken to Bellview Hospital for treatment.
