Nicholas Schummer, 49, a Brownhelm Township fruit farmer, was arraigned on a manslaughter charge for the fatal shooting of his nine year old daughter Elizabeth as he allegedly, intoxicated, fired at his wife during a quarrel. The child died from a bullet that hit the lung and heart. Schummer pleaded not guilty and was bound over to the Grand Jury under $5,000 bond.
