Lorain County braces for a major winter blast as a lake effect storm brings 6 to 10 inches through Saturday. The National Weather Service upgraded to a winter storm warning with 1,200 ODOT plows on duty and 500,000 tons of salt stockpiled. Ohio highways report 21 crashes, with no injuries reported.

Piles of sewer pipe along Routes 57 and 82 mark the start of a 20 million dollar, 3 7 1/2 mile project by eight Ohio firms led by Lorain County Rural Wastewater District. LORCO will move sewage from 1 375 homes to Avon Lake plant with 3 700 more homes possible in 20 years.
