MADD chapter to meet in Amherst
Lorain County Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Amherst fire station, with meetings set for the second Wednesday each month through June. All interested in drunk driving issues are invited to attend. Hollace Anne Velky, 19, of Oberlin, died Sunday from injuries in a one car Ashland County crash. She was born in Cleveland, a lifelong Oberlin resident, a June 1988 Oberlin High School graduate, majorette and band member, and a first year Lorain County Community College student. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery Oberlin. Contributions may be made to the Oberlin High School Endowment Fund.

A lone gunman robbed North Ridge Dairy Mart at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday on North Ridge Road, the fourth such incident in a year. The clerk, unharmed, described the suspect as 5 ft 8 in, 160 lb, with curly dark blond hair, wearing a lime green jacket.
