Coroner solves Civil War era coffin mystery in Tennessee
In Franklin Tennessee coroners and forensic experts traced a century old case to Lt Col William Shy who died in 1864. The body was found headless with a tuxedo style outfit atop a cast iron coffin buried under a later grave. Forensic analysis suggested the corpse was placed there over a year earlier after being killed by a forehead wound from a bullet.
