CBS to supply AOL with CBS News content
CBS struck a multiyear deal to replace ABC as AOL's exclusive broadcast news provider, delivering text audio and video to AOL and CompuServe. Terms were not disclosed. AOL will keep other outlets but CBS becomes the sole broadcaster on AOL with 15 million members. Mark Mooradian of Jupiter Communications calls the move a major map maker for CBS.
