Newborn found near death in motel trash in Dayton
A full term male infant weighing 6 pounds 8 ounces was found near death in a motel trash container by a gift shop worker and janitor in West Carrollton. Nurses at Children’s Medical Center described the baby as 94 degrees and in fair condition, with a note reading God Loves Me taped to his forehead. Police sought the mother based on descriptions from a motel staffer and bartender as doctors warned of risks such as pneumonia. The baby, initially unnamed, was placed in care after surviving exposure and was developing under medical supervision.
