Maintenance bridge high on city's list
Elyria Mayor Leonard P. Reichlin told city council that widening the Lodi Street bridge and the construction of a central maintenance garage should rank highly among the 1971 capital improvements. He urged architec plans and outlined funding by selling city lands to fund the motor pool and garage. The bridge project aims to ease three lane congestion and replace a damaged railing with full reconstruction, with current cost estimates rising from the 1961 study of about 86 000 to roughly 150 000.
