Four people died and about 200 residents fled into the street while two cripples were rescued by firefighters. Victims were Mrs. Georgett Daugnault 65 on the fifth floor, Mrs. Anna Le Clare 52 on the third floor, her husband William with minor burns, and Harry Argess 22 and Becky 19 whose bodies were found on the fourth floor.

MEMPHIS Tenn Jan 5 Seven persons were killed and at least a score injured from tornado winds across four southern states. A cyclone near Bolivar Tenn destroyed the home of Monroe Willis 40 killing Willis and injuring four. Mrs Cecil Wilson and her five year old daughter were killed near Bargeston Tenn. Four others had died in tornadoes near Winnfield and Montgomery. Property damage also reported in Mississippi and Arkansas.
